Emmanuel Leibenson joined Switzerland for UNHCR’s Foundation Board in 2020. He has extensive experience advising entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals and families, in all aspects of their personal and professional lives.
His experience in the lobbying and banking sectors has given him the tools and skills to provide specialized and cross-sectorial strategic advice. He is regularly called upon for his expertise in a wide range of matters such as international tax and estate planning, asset coordination and structuring, tax obligations when relocating to and from Switzerland, administrative assistance in tax issues, and corporate taxation.
Emmanuel was an executive member of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and actively participated in the drafting of the current tax laws in the Canton of Geneva. He then worked as a tax lawyer in a renowned Geneva law firm, before being appointed as head of taxation for a major private Swiss bank. He supports Switzerland for UNHCR in all legal and tax matters.
I decided to get involved with Switzerland for UNHCR because I care about the plight of refugees, displaced people and stateless communities around the world. The current number of forced displacements is unprecedented, and it continues growing. By supporting Switzerland for UNHCR, I hope to contribute to finding a solution to this emergency, and to help build a better future for everyone who is forced to flee.
